Description:

The Physics Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction, starting as soon as January 2023, but no later than August 2023. Typically, this position requires teaching five laboratory sections per year, in addition to other duties that support the department’s educational mission. Primary responsibilities are: preparing laboratory materials, teaching and assessing student work in first-year and second-year laboratories, and collaborating with departmental faculty on the development new laboratory exercises. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: set-up, management, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and classroom demonstrations.

Candidates will possess a Masters’ or Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field, a commitment to undergraduate education, and excellent communication skills. Experience in laboratory instruction is preferred.
