POSITION: ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FOR EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

DEPARTMENT: ATHLETICS

DIVISION: OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT

OPENING DATE: SEPTEMBER 12, 2022

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs will work to support the mission and core values of the University and Department of Athletics. The primary purpose of the position is to assist with all aspects of fundraising, marketing, and ticket sales for the athletic department. This position will also main a good working relationship with the University Community and is responsible for c coordinating the external affairs of the department of athletics including development, marketing and media relations. Primary emphasis will be on developing and cultivating donors and supporters for the athletic department, Reports to the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Sporting Management or Sponsorship & Marketing or related field supplemented by three to five years of marketing and sponsorship experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must demonstrate, intermediate to advanced skills with multitasking, follow through and work cooperatively with others. Ability to present information clearly and concisely. Ability to manage several large projects simultaneously. Ability to quickly learn and utilize people, resources and information across the campus. Ability to work with colleagues and students. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office as well as the ability to utilize excel for reporting and accuracy. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff and students from diverse backgrounds is an essential skill. Must be able to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
