Description:

The Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies requests applications from qualified individuals for an adjunct associate or assistant professor position. The Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Science programs with a major in nursing have three tracks: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). The School also has an innovative a Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing. The School also offers a Master of Science in Cardiovascular Sciences and Perfusion Medicine as well as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) combined with a Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP)

Responsibilities include:
• Provide instruction to Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Nursing Practice students in Nursing
• Demonstrate competence in teaching
• Create innovative curricula utilizing experiential pedagogies and adult learning theory
• Engage in community service above and beyond faculty requirements
• Engage in lifelong learning as evidenced by participation in professional and faculty development
• Evidence of progressive participation and leadership of national/international professional organizations
• Maintain clinical/professional experience in the field of accreditation of undergraduate and graduate-level programs, namely Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and Council on the Accreditation of Anesthesia (COA) and Accreditation Committee-Perfusion Education (AC-PE)

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will possess the following:
• Doctoral degree in nursing, pharmacy, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching at the collegiate level preferred
• Preference to individuals with experience providing instruction in pharmacology, nursing research or experiential learning pedagogies
• Certification as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) preferred
• Peer reviewed national/international presentations, publications preferred
• Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, leadership and time management skills
• Outstanding computer skills are a must and include proficiency in Blackboard, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
