Job Description: 

POSITION SUMMARY 
Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Cashiers and Student Accounting,the Accountant performs a variety of professional level accounting duties accordingto Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Federal and State regulations.Assists with the operations of the Cashiers and Student accounting department,as needed. This role will encompass the ability to troubleshoot and resolvesdiscrepancies or inaccuracies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Disbursement of Student FinancialData Collections and Student Support

Knowledgeable in financialcompliance with federal and state regulations and internal guidelines relatedto accounts receivables and collections, the disbursement, reporting, andreconciliation of funds used to help pay student tuition and related costs atthe College. Assists in the drawdown of federal financial aid funds andreporting of enrollment to initiate the process to receive funds for tuition paymentswith other departments and colleagues on Campus and externally as needed.

Supports the processes of refundsto students by check and ACH in accordance with established policies andprocedures. Assists with receivables collections and works with Financial Aidand Enrollment Services Operations team to establish financial aid and reportingschedule. Critical support for other departments during normal business hoursand in person when needed. Assists students in-person, over the phone usingCall Center, Chat, and by email during regular business hours.

General Accounting
Summarizes and reports accounting information as needed. May assist inproviding information for the annual external audit. Documents businesstransactions to the general ledger and student accounts. Analyzes, investigates,and corrects accounting entries as needed. Assists in testing system processes.Keeps accurate records. Completes and maintains required documentation.

OTHER DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES

Attends all required department meetings and training. Manages multiple assignmentsof varying complexity while meeting federal, state, and internal regulationsand procedures.

Assists with customer service in thedepartment as needed. Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changing needs of theCollege and business partners. Hours may include working outside of a normal workweekschedule to support workload. Works overtime as needed to meet businessdemands.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
An Associate degree in Accounting and one (1) year of related experience.

State Motor Vehicle Operator'sLicense or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

*An appropriatecombination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify acandidate.
