Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY 
The Fiscal Specialist, Cashiers and Student Accounting provides customerservice and financial information to students and third-party companies andorganizations that pay students’ tuition and fees and assist customers with questionsregarding students’ accounts through direct contact by phone, in-person, email,and chat with students, other student-facing departments, other departmentsacross campus, and third-party companies and organizations during hours that thecollege operates. This role assists with balance inquiries, processes paymentsfor tuition and fees, and reconciles student financial transactions,statements, records, and reports. This position also assists internal customerswith deposits, disburses checks to students and employees, and includes creditcard, cash-handling, and balancing responsibilities. This position requiresknowledge of Excel, with the ability to ensure accurate information usingformulas, filtering, sorting, and other Excel functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Customer Service/ Cash Handling

Assists students in completingtheir payment of tuition, books, and other charges. Responds to questions from studentsand third-party companies and organizations about account balances, collection processes,and transaction activity on students’ accounts. Assists students in-person,over the phone using Call Center, Chat, and by email during regular businesshours. Provides the same services during extended times at the start of the academicsemesters.

Receives and processes credit cards,checks, and cash for processing and balancing. Reviews student concerns withtheir accounts, sometimes in-person; investigates and resolves according tocollege policy and procedure. Collaborates with other college departments to ensurestudents are billed accurately based upon information in the studentinformation system and third-party contracts. Uses Excel to provide informationto students and others. Stays current on policies, procedures, regulations, andother guidance to ensure the accuracy of work and compliance with this, such asFERPA, PCI, cash handling requirements, and financial aid regulations. Occasionallymay work at our Delaware campus serving students.

Accounts Receivable
Assists with invoicing, the collection of tuition and fees, and refunds, forstudents and third-party contracts. Works with Assistant Director and others inthe department to create processes necessary for an increasing number of newthird-party contracts. Provides information to companies on their websites ortheir Excel spreadsheets to enable payment for students’ tuition, fees, andbook and supplies, as needed. Ensures that information is accurate and timely.

Receives and processes tuition andfee payments. Analyzes and reconciles student accounts. Analyzes studentaccount information (e.g., billing, payments, and Financial Aid distribution).Examines records of amounts due. Documents, analyzes, verifies, and poststransactions to journals, ledgers, and other student records. Verifies financialaid disbursements, monitors student accounts, and ensures accuracy. Maintainsstudent records, adding account notations and scanning documents. Completes andmaintains required documentation. Scans balancing information, studentvouchers, and student backup documentation.

Attends all required department meetings and training. Manages multiple assignmentsof varying complexity while meeting federal, state, and internal regulationsand procedures.

Assists with customer service in thedepartment as needed. Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changing needs of theCollege and business partners. Hours may include working outside of a normal workweekschedule to support workload. Works overtime as needed to meet businessdemands.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
High School Diploma or GED with at least one (1) year of experience using Word,Excel, and database software.

State Motor Vehicle Operator'sLicense or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
