Responsibilities

The Graduate Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship’s Graduate Programs and related efforts. The position will oversee various administrative tasks related to building, implementing, revitalizing, and sustaining graduate programs, and other related projects including admissions, advising, recruiting, and more. This position, additionally, assists in sustaining the JMC Academic Office as a whole, reporting to the Assistant Director of Academic and Student Services.

Graduate Program Management: responsible for graduate-level student and teaching schedules. Coordinates with the Assistant Director of Academic Services to prepare the annual academic budget for graduate programs. Responsible for researching and benchmarking peer institutions and creating recommendations to the Assistant Director of Academic Services about program updates and/or new programs. Oversees biannual curriculum meetings with faculty and the JMC Dean.

Graduate Advising, Admissions, and Recruiting: Manages and coordinates all graduate admissions and advising for the college. Attends recruiting events, graduate webinars, and most notably, the Graduate Enrollment Management Committee meetings. Responsible for recruitment services. Maintains workflow for the graduate admissions and advising processes, and creates new, more efficient workflow where possible. Provide students with academic, career, and personal resources. Plans and executes graduate orientations.

General Academic Office Support: Responsible for providing academic administrative assistance for the Jim Moran College’s entire Academic office, including course building, managing curriculum requests, coordinating scholarships, room scheduling, and other special projects. Provides reports to the Dean and/or Assistant Director's office as requested. Works with central offices across the FSU campus to provide timely and meaningful reports, data, and communications.

Administrative: Responsible for overseeing graduate assistants, ensuring timely processing of tuition waivers, and that all GA prerequisites are met, including PIE and other training. Works with administrative team and research faculty to ensure both their needs and GA needs are met. Work with the Marketing and Events Manager to coordinate student events.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of expereince in higher education academic administration and services; or a high school diploma or equivalent and experience equal to four years. (Note: post-high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)

  • Must be able to prioritize work and perform well under pressure.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and be able to navigate new software systems confidently.
  • Must have advanced customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to relate to diverse student, faculty, administrative, employer, and community population.
Preferred

The successful candidate would have student-centered work experience, have strong multicultural competence, would display strong interpersonal skills with faculty, staff, and student populations and would work effectively as a team member to ensure that departmental goals are met successfully.

Soft Money Funded Position

This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
