Student status is required to be eligible for student positions. Must be enrolled in a minimum of six hours during a long semester three hours during the summer semesters. Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Limited to working up to 20 hours a week. Lamar State College-Port Arthur is an E-Verify Employer.

Job Summary:

Will be responsible for indexing and scanning files for the Human Resources office. It is very important that all Human Resources information remains confidential. Accuracy is very important and that documents are scanned in the correct employee file.

Must have good customer skills. Answers the telephones and takes messages or transfers calls. Will type letters, labels, and enter information on spreadsheets. Assist the Human Resources Associate and Director as needed. Helpful to have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Also, will hand carry documents to other departments on campus. Other duties include faxing, copying, shredding, and putting together benefit packets for new hires, etc.

Some lifting and carrying maybe required.

Must be able to work up to 20 hours a week, Monday through Friday. Willing to work around student’s class schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

Good communication skills. Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel. Detail oriented.

Must be enrolled in at least six semester hours for the fall and spring semesters and at least three semester hours for the summer semesters at LSCPA.

Preferred Qualifications:

Good computer skills. Good customer service skills.

Salary:

$8.50 an hour

Work Hours:

Limited up to 20 hours a week; Willing to work around student's class schedule. Monday - Friday betwee 8 am to 5 pm.
