Description:

The Picker Engineering Program at Smith College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 2023.  We seek someone with a background in electrical engineering or related field with the ability to teach in multiple areas within our curriculum, to involve undergraduate students in their research, and to engage with diverse students across the liberal arts.  The teaching load is two courses per semester, with additional responsibilities for major and honors advising. Teaching responsibilities include regular rotation in the required circuit theory and lab course, upper-level elective courses developed by the candidate in their area of expertise, and additional courses from the core engineering sequence, such as an introductory design course.  Smith College is a research college, and it is expected that the successful candidate will maintain an active research program. A Ph.D. in engineering or a closely related discipline is expected by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in engineering are encouraged to apply.
