Occupational Summary

The Assistant Director, IT position reports to Administrative Systems Management (ASM), the SAP Center of Excellence at Duke University and Health System. As part of ASM this position leads the team that provides system and business process support for supply chain and accounts payable functionality within ECC and SRM. The position reports to the Associate VP, ASM.

Duties

·Manage the team supporting Supply Chain and Accounts Payable modules of SAP including resource allocation, priority setting, performance evaluation and professional development planning.

·Lead new SAP Supply Chain and Accounts Payable projects including project management, requirements analysis, design specification development, SAP configuration, and implementation.

·Project Management duties include leading meetings, developing project plans,leading design and business process change efforts, identifying security requirements, developing test plans, and overall resource coordination.

·Provide daily support for SAP MM and SRM system functions.Support includes routine configuration, ticket resolution and troubleshooting.

·Perform requirements analysis, develop design specifications and configure solutions for minor SAP MM enhancements.

·Develop and execute test plans for minor enhancements and SAP enhancement packs.

·Develop documentation for business processes and related solutions implemented in SAP.

·Collaborate with constituents, abap team resources and other ASM teams to deliver effective solutions.

·Serve as an expert configuration resource for Procurement/Supply Chain modules of SAP.
Serve as a Procurement team Business Warehouse resource. Duties include coordination with the BW lead resource for requirements analysis, data modeling, testing, security, integration with ECC, query development and presentation.

·Perform other duties and special projects related to the duties described above and at the direction of the Associate Vice President.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience

·Aminimum of five years of experience in business operations or financial management, preferably in higher education or health care.

·Experience configuring and implementing Procurement and Supply Chain components of SAP (or similar non -SAP ERP systems) is required.

·Broad understanding of materials management, purchasing, inventory and accounts payable processes.

·Experience migrating ECC to S/4 and Fiori apps preferred.

·Experience managing multiple projects/assignments and working with a wide range of administrative, technical, and functional staff is required.

·A broad understanding of University and Health System administration and operations is preferred.

Duke University was created in 1924 by James Buchanan Duke as a memorial to his father, Washington Duke. The Dukes, a Durham family that built a worldwide financial empire in the manufacture of tobacco products and developed electricity production in the Carolinas, long had been interested in Trinity College. Trinity traced its roots to 1838 in nearby Randolph County when local Methodist and Quaker communities opened Union Institute. The school, then named Trinity College, moved to Durham in 1892, where Benjamin Newton Duke served as a primary benefactor and link with the Duke family until his death in 1929.
