Job Description

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law seeks applicants for an entry level or lateral tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Health Law to start in Fall 2023. Candidates with research and teaching interests in all areas of health law are encouraged to apply, with particular interest in regulatory aspects of health law as well as technology and health equity. The School of Law is looking for faculty members with a strong commitment to educating lawyers for the twenty-first century, and those who will actively participate in our collegial, collaborative community. We especially welcome applications from candidates who would add diversity to our faculty.

As part of the University of Missouri - Kansas City campus, the School of Law faculty benefits from opportunities for collaboration with the university’s three nationally-ranked graduate schools dedicated to the health sciences, including the UMKC Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing. In addition to robust interdisciplinary collaboration, some members of the law school faculty have joint appointments with the graduate health science programs and serve in various capacities with Children’s Mercy Hospital and University Health (formerly Truman Medical Center).

Minimum Qualifications

A J.D. or equivalent degree is required.

Full Time/Part Time

This is a 9-month full-time, benefit-eligible, ranked academic appointment on the tenure-track or tenure-eligible. The position begins in Fall 2023.


The salary is commensurate with rank, credentials and experience.
