Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses in organic chemistry, drug toxicology and chemistry, and manage organic chemistry laboratories. The implementation of effective teaching practices is highly valued. The anticipated assignment is 75% effort to teaching and 25% to service activities.Interest in the development of online coursework or contribution to scholarly research in area of teaching are considered favorable. All faculty are expected to contribute service within the department, college, university, and community. UND and the College of Arts & Sciences value diverse perspectives and seek applicants who are committed to helping students from underrepresented backgrounds succeed.Required Competencies- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to teach, inspire, and mentor students.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside the Chemistry program.
- Ability to adapt to current methods of teaching, including online delivery.
- Ph.D. or M.S. Degree in chemistry or related field by August 15, 2023.
- Teaching experience in Organic Chemistry
- Successful completion of criminal history records check.
