Montgomery County Community College (Montco) invites confidential applications and nominations for the Vice President for Finance position. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned, highly motivated, strategic-minded financial leader who possesses the experience and demonstrates the skills necessary to motivate, inspire, and lead a Finance team to help fulfill the College’s mission and equity goals for student success.

As a member of the Achieving the Dream National Network (ATD), Montco is constantly honing research-based strategies that support student success. Montco was named as an Achieving the Dream Leader College in 2011 and was recertified as a Leader College in 2014 and 2019. Montco earned the prestigious Leah Meyer Austin Award in 2014—the highest distinction a college in the ATD Network can earn. According to ATD, the award is given annually to a college that employs a holistic approach to reducing equity gaps between student groups and increasing success for all. 

The Vice President for Finance is the chief financial officer and principal advisor to the President on all matters related to the management and oversight of business and financial affairs of the College at all campuses and locations, the Foundation, and budgeting oversight for grants. Responsibilities include developing and implementing student-oriented business and fiscal policies, negotiating and administering union contracts, and supervising budget development and management, finance, payroll, purchasing, procurement and insurance and risk management.

A few qualifications for the next Vice President for Finance include:

• Possess the CPA and a Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or a closely related field.
• Have 15 years of progressive financial/accounting responsibility in a complex organization, with chief financial officer experience preferred.
• Possess substantial management experience related to administrative and fiscal affairs in a complex organization, preferably a community college.
