Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:General plumbing work and maintenance. Assisting in proper maintenance and inspection of all plumbing and steam heating systems and their equipment, to prevent interruption in service, damage to equipment, and inconvenience to students and other employees.
Minimum Education Requirements:- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Two years experience in general plumbing work and general mechanical maintenance experience required.
- Must possess memory for oral and written directions
- Must be able to follow instructions and carry out tasks assigned.
- On-the-job training, vocational school, or apprentice. Plumbing and building schematics and blueprints.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements to operate a university vehicle.
- Must be able to solder various sizes of copper piping, knowledge of various tools and their use. Hammer drills, saws, pipe threaders, torches, etc.

Work Hours:- Eight hours per day, five days per week; occasional overtime.
- Emergency call back after normal working hours and on weekends.
- Work environment often dirty and outside during severe weather conditions.
- Danger of burns from steam lines.
- Must be able to lift 50 to 80 lbs.
