Job Description

UMKC's School of Nursing and Health Studies (SoNHS) is seeking a Senior Office Support who is team-oriented and known for their attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to take initiative. Work performed is often time sensitive and always confidential, therefore multitasking skills are very important. The ideal candidate must be able to perform job tasks in a busy environment with frequent interruptions, while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work. They must be organized and patient, can problem solve in fast-paced situations and capable of providing exceptional customer service to faculty, staff, students, and community. Responsibilities and job duties include but are not limited to:

    Understands how tasks/activities relate to others on the team and how the team integrates with other related, similar teamsOrganizes and completes structured assignments according to prioritiesRecognizes and solves typical problems that occur in own work area with and without supervisory approvalEvaluates and selects solutions from established options/proceduresImpacts own team through the quality of the services or information providedCommunicates through the regular exchange of information

Key Responsibilities

    Answer the school's main phone line and emailAssist with admission for all SoNHS programsCoordinate room scheduling for classes, events and meetingsWill direct and assist students in person and on the phoneAssist Director of Student Services with various work projectsGeneral management of office supplies, equipment, bulletin boards and student recordsProvide staff support to Program Directors of online programs Provide support to Scholarship committee with scholarship review and attend scholarship meetings regularlyHelp Assoc. Dean of Students track Honor Code ViolationsOversee the Student Services website and keep it updated
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be aquired, or a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous front desk experience in a student services, admissions, or higher education environment

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proven track record of punctuality and good attendance

• Intermediate Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Access, and Adobe Acrobat Professional skills

• Experience in Peoplesoft

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Utilizes working knowledge and learned skills to perform various activities for the jobPossesses basic knowledge of specific processes and procedures needed to perform assignments within own work areaSuccessful candidates will provide outstanding customer service, with a "can do" attitude, along with the ability to successfully work efficiently and independently.Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines in accordance with established priorities, timelines, funding limitations, etc.
Full Time/Part Time

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible (100% FTE), hourly (non-exempt) position.

Salary

$15.75 - $22.50 per hour commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
