Job Description:


The Senior Human Resources Associate works in all aspects of Human Resources at the College, including recruitment and selection, employee/labor relations, compensation and benefits, professional and organizational development and HRIS. Works closely with Assistant Director for Talent Management, Director of Compensation & Benefits and Senior Human Resources Associate for adjunct faculty matters..


Examples of duties include:


  • Collaborating with hiring managers and search committees with the recruitment process.
  • Talent sourcing, onboarding of new employees (adjuncts, students, faculty and staff).
  • Timely completion and/or collection of required forms and information from employees, (e.g., I9s, W4).
  • Delivery of new hire orientation and staff development programs.
  • Performing HRIS data management and analyses from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Information Warehouse and internal HR database.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or closely related field
  • Five years of Human Resources experience in a professional capacity.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and apply general human resources policies using problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive and personal information with sound judgment, tact, and discretion.
  • Ability to consistently follow through with projects and assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong and effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access).
  • Familiarity with human resource management systems, such as HRCMS.
  • Experience using email and internet.
  • Ability to deal with frequent interruptions and multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous and/or current experience working in a HR Assistant or HR Coordinator role.
  • Previous and/or current experience working with HR systems: Colleague, PeopleSoft, Applicant Tracking Systems, Time and Leave System/Employee Self-Service Portal.
  • Experience in a unionized environment
  • Experience working in a diverse community college environment.
  • Work experience in higher education


Additional Information:


Salary Range: $70, 000.00-$,75,000.00

Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is a multi-campus urban institution, its main campus situated in the historic Charlestown neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.
