The Business School at the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) seeks a full-time Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Information Systems in the area of Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or Business Intelligence/Analytics. Rank would be determined by the rank held at current or previous University. The position can be either for one semester contract or one year contract beginning in January 2023. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Information Systems or related discipline.
The Business School brings together a world-class faculty, top-notch students, and influential business partners. With classes offered during the day, in the evening, and online, the Business School is the largest graduate school of business in the region and the first choice of business professionals; undergraduate business programs are recently revised and rapidly growing.
Job responsibilities:
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Information Systems or related discipline. ABD applicants will be considered. The position consists of 60% teaching and 40% research. The normal teaching load consists of 6 courses per year, three courses per semester. The candidate is expected to reside in the Denver metro area.
Successful candidates will be an integral part of programs and instruction for the Information Systems area. They should feel comfortable teaching undergraduate and graduate students (BSBA with Information Systems Major, MBA or MS Information Systems). Candidates may be tasked with teaching and/or developing courses related to some of the following topics Systems Analysis and Design, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, programming languages such as JavaScript and Python, Database Management Systems, Business Intelligence, Data Mining, or Information Technology Management and Strategy.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for a Visiting Assistant Professor is $108,000-$115,000.
The salary range for a Visiting Associate Professor is $115,000 - $125,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

- A Ph.D., DBA or ABD in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a terminal degree in a field closely related to Information Systems from an AACSB accredited (or equivalent) University satisfies a terminal degree requirement in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications for Visiting Assistant Professor:
- Currently holds the rank of Assistant Professor Ph.D. in Information Systems or related field from an AACSB accredited university Demonstrated effectiveness in research, as evidenced by publications in refereed journals, presentations at academic conferences, and/or other intellectual contributions. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level, as supported by teaching experience (as an independent instructor or teaching assistant) and student evaluations.
Preferred Qualifications for Visiting Associate Professor:
- Currently holds the rank of Associate Professor Ph.D. in Information Systems or related field from an AACSB accredited university Demonstrated effectiveness in research, as evidenced by publications in refereed journals, presentations at academic conferences, and/or other intellectual contributions. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level, as supported by teaching experience and student evaluations.
