Job Summary/Basic Function:

The School of Communication & the Arts invites applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach online undergraduate courses in journalism. The applicant is expected to teach the core principles of journalism. The applicant should be qualified to teach courses in Media Writing, Social Media Writing, and Journalism.
The qualified applicant will have an earned Masters’s in the field. The applicant needs to have documented experience in journalism. The applicant will be expected to guide and mentor student journalists. Online faculty must have regular access to and familiarity with the Internet/e-mail.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s in a related field (with professional experience) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Terminal degree in Communication or Journalism
* Professional Experience
* Three years or more of full-time online teaching experience at the graduate levels, and a strong record of professional achievement.
* History of publication in academic or trade journals for communication or journalism.
* Established research and/or professional content agenda.
