Job Summary/Basic Function:

Primary responsibilities include serving as a mentor and methodologist on numerous dissertation committees, reviewing dissertation manuscripts, and providing feedback specific to the research methods, either qualitative or quantitative. Faculty member will help prepare doctoral students to conduct qualitative or quantitative dissertation research that is methodologically sound.

Secondary responsibilities may include teaching either qualitative or quantitative research methods courses (qualitative or quantitative research design, statistics/data analysis) in the School of Health Sciences PhD programs using the Canvas online learning platform. Faculty member is required to complete grading within five days, respond to student emails within 36 hours, check into courses a minimum of every 48 hours, and complete ongoing professional development.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicant must have a PhD or equivalent in an allied health profession such as but not limited to Health Sciences, Rehabilitation Science, Physical Therapy, Communication Science, and Occupational Therapy.
Degree must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Must have completed a traditional qualitative or quantitative dissertation.
Full doctrinal compatibility with Liberty University.

Must demonstrate expertise in either qualitative or quantitative research methods in the field of health sciences, to include published research in peer reviewed journals and conference presentations.

Superior interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills required.

Creative, innovative, and problem solving skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with an established record of research evidenced by intellectual and professional contributions to the field through peer-reviewed publication and conference presentations. Preference will be given to candidates with dissertation/thesis mentorship experience and experience teaching research methods using online learning platforms (e.g., Canvas). Candidates must work well with others and be able to work at a pace that will not delay the progress of a dissertation candidate toward timely completion of the doctoral degree.
