Description:

The Tulane University Department of Philosophy and the Murphy Institute seek to hire two assistant professors (tenure-track) with areas of specialization in ethics or social and political philosophy. The appointment will be 50% in philosophy and 50% in the Murphy Institute. 

The Department of Philosophy has a growing research strength in moral and political philosophy, to which the successful candidate will contribute. The Murphy Institute houses Tulane’s undergraduate program in Political Economy, and its Center for Ethics and Public Affairs supports a variety of research activities, including an internationally renowned faculty fellowship program and a vibrant series of lectures, seminars, and conferences.

Qualifications:

Ph.D in Philosophy or related discipline by time of appointment.

We are particularly interested in candidates whose research touches on issues in political economy and candidates who show evidence of potential for interdisciplinary research.
