Summary

The Senior Academic and Career Advisor for the Department of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies shall provide professional guidance, consultation, and expertise related to career services, career development, and related technology, which includes but are not limited to the following key responsibilities: Develop workshops and seminars associated with post-graduate school careers; In consultation with departmental graduate school advisors, advise graduate students on diverse career options; Serve as a career coach assisting graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to develop a personalized plan for the job search process. Demonstrate knowledge in Career Services student databases and other information technology and web programs. Provide a high quality career coaching experience to the graduate students OGPS serves and postdoctoral fellows; Develop and manage career coaching processes to ensure student success; In collaboration with the Office of Assessment and Institutional Research (OAIR), develop and implement graduate student tracking post-graduation; Continually improve career coaching skills and practices; Assists with graduate recruitment and marketing opportunities, as well as other Career Services and Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies’ tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

•Master’s Degree •5 years’ experience working with graduate students as an academic advisor or career coach.
