The Falk lab is currently looking to hire a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher trained in Cell Biology or related fields to join a highly integrative group (biology, engineering, data science, cognitive psychology) at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA! This position is available immediately and NSF-funded.
The project (NSF 21-590 Predictive Intelligence for Pandemic Prevention Phase I: Dynamics of Pandemic Spread and Prevention in Indigenous Communities) aims to investigate the potential of direct transmission of pathogens from cell to cell via internalizing gap junctions. SARS, Influenza, and HIV reference viruses are of particular interest. Backgrounds in basic molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, and/or virology are desirable.
Prospective candidates must have a Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology or a related field.
