The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto invites applications for one full-time tenure stream appointment in Operations Management & Statistics. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor and commence on July 1, 2023, or shortly thereafter.

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Operations Management, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related discipline. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement our existing strengths. We seek individuals with a demonstrated exceptional record of excellence in research and teaching. Applicants must engage in research in the area of data analytics. In addition, applicants for the position must have a strong theoretical and methodological background in their area of specialization and data analytics, as well as the demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to important questions and issues in management. Applicants must be able to teach in the Master of Management Analytics program and have a demonstrated mastery of their subject area and of analytics. Preference will be given to candidates specializing in health care management.

Candidates will have an established international reputation. The successful candidate for this position is expected to be actively engaged in innovative and independent research at the highest international level and to maintain an outstanding and competitive research program.

The Rotman School of Management has a strong research-oriented faculty that is supportive of serious scholarship and is committed to the professional development of its faculty. The Operations Management and Statistics area provides a stimulating and supportive research environment and a strong commitment to excellence in both research and teaching. The recently-formed TD Management Data and Analytics Lab promotes cutting-edge analytic tools in business through teaching and research, and will be a central source of knowledge and expertise in data science, AI, and machine learning applications.

For this position, excellence in research is evidenced primarily by a sustained and impactful publication record, a research statement, and strong letters of reference from referees of high standing. The successful candidate for this position is expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level, and to publish articles in internationally recognized top-tier academic journals in the field of Operations Management. We seek individuals who publish in Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and/or journals of similar caliber and international standing. Other evidence of research excellence may include research presentations at top conferences and other highly ranked schools, and research awards and accolades.

Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching. This will be demonstrated through the statement of teaching philosophy, teaching accomplishments, and teaching dossier (with required materials outlined below), as well as strong letters of recommendation, and strong performance during the on-campus presentation for short-listed candidates.

Salary and rank are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
