Assistant Professor in Linguistics (Open Area)

The Department of Linguistics at Stanford University is seeking applicants for a full-time
tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, with a starting date of
September 1, 2023. The position is open to all areas of specialization in linguistics.
Applicants will be expected to teach courses in linguistics at both the graduate and
undergraduate levels, and to maintain an active research program. We value candidates
whose research engages with multiple subfields of linguistics and applies
methodologically rigorous empirical work to significant theoretical questions.

Applicants should submit the following: cover letter; CV; research statement (not
to exceed two pages); statement of teaching interests and philosophy (not to exceed one
page); up to three representative samples of published or unpublished work; and up to
three reference letters, to be submitted on their behalf.

The Linguistics Department, School of Humanities and Sciences, and Stanford University
