Job Details

SIUE seeks qualified applicants for a full-time Director of Undergraduate Admissions.  Working as part of the University's Enrollment Management leadership team and reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management within Academic Affairs, the Director of Undergraduate Admission provides leadership for a team of 25 full-time staff and directs all aspects of the University's first-year and transfer student recruitment and admissions operations. The successful candidate will inherit a talented and experienced admissions leadership team which generated a record number of applications and admitted first-year undergraduate students for fall 2022.

The Office of Admissions is comprised of six units: First-Year Student Admission Counseling and Recruitment; Transfer Student Admission Counseling and Recruitment; Communications and Reporting; Campus Visits; New Student Programs; and Review and Processing.  The selected candidate will participate in enrollment planning and will work closely with the Deans of the schools of Business; Engineering; Education, Health and Human Behavior; Nursing; The College of Arts and Sciences and the professional Schools of Pharmacy and Dental Medicine.  The Director of Undergraduate Admissions will possess strong interpersonal and leadership abilities and the experience required to develop and maintain professional relationships with high school and community college transition professionals, alumni and university partners across campus.

Daily responsibilities for the Director focus on developing and implementing the undergraduate strategic enrollment plan which includes continuous consideration and assessment of industry best practices for possible implementation at SIUE; coordination and oversight of marketing and recruitment plans communication strategies; and visit programming for traditional first-year and transfer populations. The Director also leads the implementation, assessment and day to day management of test-optional and holistic admission processes for various academic units and leads the implementation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion best practices for both student recruitment and staff development. The successful candidate will be adept at data collection and analysis, policy review and implementation and day to day management of personnel and financial resources. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the University.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

-Master's degree;
-A minimum of ten (10) years of experience within college admissions in a similar or related position. 

Preferred Qualifications:

-Specialized knowledge including a comprehensive understanding of all levels of recruitment of new students (marketing principles, technology experience in admission operations) and data analyzation and interpretation.
-Good interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, creativity, and ability to lead and work well with others.
