  • Identifies funding opportunities specific to early-career faculty by utilizing multiple online tools and by maintaining contact with and knowledge of various agencies and organizations
  • Promotes funding opportunities specific to early-career faculty by maintaining a current listing of all early-career faculty and their contact information and by distributing pertinent opportunities and recommending potential matches
  • Supports early-career faculty members in analyzing complex funding solicitations by creating master lists of required content, developing preliminary outlines, tracking updates to solicitations and/or FAQs
  • Supports early-career faculty members in writing responsive research proposals by assisting with project management of the proposal process and narrative development assistance
  • Develops and facilitates programs enabling early-career faculty members’ research funding success (including professional development programs, mentoring programs, and formal review programs)
  • Supports VCRI Office internal funding and limited submission infrastructure
  • Acts as a point-of-contact resource for early-career faculty members, providing general guidance on navigating the proposal submission process
    Minimum Qualifications

    A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Degree in a STEM-focused field
    • Graduate certificate or coursework in proposal development or grant writing
    • Experience working with faculty members in higher education
    • Familiarity with graduate degree granting, STEM-focused institutions of higher education
    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communications, or a related area that required significant writing and/or editing
    • Experience parsing complex documents, tracking multi-faceted requirements, and working with others to enable their fulfillment (3 years)
    • Experience editing and providing feedback on others’ technical content (2 years)
