Psychology: Lab Manager/Study Coordinator - 476111S

The Department of Psychology at the University of Richmond is seeking a Lab Manager/Study Coordinator to support faculty member, Dr. Camilla Nonterah. Dr. Nonterah is an Assistant Professor of Health Psychology who conducts research focused on the psychosocial aspects of solid organ transplantation and positive psychology. Her projects focus on improving access to kidney transplantation for minoritized groups, reducing health disparities, using strength-based approaches, and incorporating multicultural frameworks. The study coordinator's role will focus on recruiting patients diagnosed with end-stage organ disease, preparing data sets, performing qualitative and quantitative data analyses, and managing IRB protocols amongst other tasks. The person in this position will work closely with undergraduate students, a postdoctoral researcher, and other collaborators on Dr. Nonterah's projects. This position would be excellent for individuals who plan to apply for doctorates in psychology, someone interested in going to medical school or a related discipline. Opportunities are also available for mentorship in data analysis and preparation of poster presentations and/or manuscripts (as desired). The ideal candidate will begin this full-time position as soon as possible, with a required commitment of 1-2 years depending on funding.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team in a collaborative setting.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills, and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and aptitude for communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and some proficiency in using statistical packages such as SPSS, MPLUS, and/or R.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Healthcare Studies, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience conducting human subject research (An equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered).

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Psychology or related field.
  • Familiarity with health psychology research methods.
  • A background in conducting qualitative or mixed-methods research (e.g., conducting interviews and coding).
  • Working knowledge of qualitative coding software such as MAXQDA, ATLAS.ti and NVIVO.

WORK HOURS:

  • Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week
