Marketing Specialist for Enrollment
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular Full-time
Supervisor: Chief Marketing Officer
Position Purpose: Serves as the main point of contact and liaison between the Admissions Office and the office of Communications and Marketing. Works on a team that conceptualizes, develops and produces integrated marketing and communication strategies to advance the College’s strategic enrollment goals and visibility, including email, web, social media, video, and print communication. Provides support by creating content, coordinating the work of the production team, including graphic designers, photographers, and videographers, managing the scheduling of high priority components, and setting the timeline for the overall completion of each project they are responsible for.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Content Creation: Creates content and supports the implementation of content that appeals to prospective students, using new and emerging technologies. Researches, writes, and edits priority communications. Implements a strategy for multiple digital properties including Slate-based email and portal projects, the Drupal based Admissions site and third-party platforms such as Niche, Common App, SCOIR, Hobsons/Naviance.
- Project Management & Evaluation: Liaises with Communications and Marketing and Admissions, conceptualizes, develops and produces print and digital enrollment marketing materials aligned with Union’s messaging and visual identity. Develops, monitors, and tracks engagement with undergraduate recruitment marketing campaigns including emails, guides, campaigns, web pages, and print collateral. Utilizes reporting dashboards and produces regular reports on progress for review by the Marketing and Communications and Admissions teams.
- Collaboration: Builds and maintains relationships across the College community identifying individuals who are appropriate to profile for future content use. Collaborates with the videographer and photographer to develop compelling multimedia projects for use in the recruitment cycle including web pages, social media, and collateral for on-campus and virtual visits. Collaborates with Admissions and the social media team, on development of social media plans based on the admissions cycle.
- Additional Tasks: Identifies and proposes strategies to address industry trends that affect how Union can more effectively recruit and communicate with students. Performs other marketing and communications-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of directly related experience, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment and meet established goals and objectives.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data. Ability to pay attention to details, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Experience building strong business relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to be impartial and establish rapport with a diverse range of campus community members.
- Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow staff colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working in undergraduate admissions.
- Experience with HyperText Markup Language (HTML)/Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
- Experience using Technolutions Slate or similar CRM system.
- Familiarity with AP style.
- Have working knowledge of graphic design, photo and video editing software, preferably Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
