Overview

The Security Analyst II is responsible for ongoing activities that serve the provide appropriate access to and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of St. Jude information assets in compliance with legal, regulatory, or organizational guidelines. Responsible for assisting with planning, development, and coordination of all information security projects and ongoing activities as assigned. This position may be eligible for the possibility of remote work. RESPON_IT
Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct activities related to assigned project/area (including implementation of security controls, risk assessments, security risk management processes, risk awareness activities, and maintenance of local networks).
  • Lead setting up and optimization of information security management processes for internal customers as assigned.
  • Participate in project teams, panels, technological platforms, and meetings and keep in close contact with other cross functional teams.
  • Guide the other business teams in relation to security needs and issues.
  • Guide and mentor newer team members in security systems/processes/controls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise to implement security processes & tools within assigned program.
  • Ensures IT security policies, related standards, and guidelines are applied effectively within own area.
  • Analyzes security/threat reports and shares observations with relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Meticulously handles any imminent threat or violation of security policies and standard security practices and escalates appropriately.
  • Independently completes information security operational work items.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in information security; MBA or related Masters in technology field preferred.

  • Minimum Experience

  • Minimum requirement: 2+ years of demonstrable work experience in IT security preferably in the healthcare research industry.
  • Demonstrated experience working with securing information technology (e.g. cloud, SaaS, network/server management) with insight into IT risk, threat actors, and attack vectors.
  • Experience managing small to medium complexity IT security processes/ projects.

  • Other Credentials

  • Certifications from ISC2, SANS, ISACA (e.g. GSEC, SSCP, CIAM, Security+) are preferred.
