Overview

St. Jude is hiring for a Linux Senior Infrastructure Engineer position. This position will be mostly focused on Azure Cloud Services and traditional Linux server responsibilities.  This person will utilize strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software or other system issues. Responsibilities

  • Assists in the coordination, direction, or execution of system and/or network installations, configurations, and modifications
  • Plans and carries out Systems Team planning activities
  • Tracks assigned systems or network components for purposes of performance tuning and capacity planning
  • Establishes and revises systems or network administration and operations policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and security
  • Supports disaster recovery (DR) software, hardware, policies, and procedures

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field of study.

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum experience: Four (4) years of IT experience with experience in infrastructure operations and engineering environments, preferrably with experience in one or more of the following areas: Open VMS, Win NT system management, MS-Exchange management, Unix-type operating system management, OS/400 operating system management, Lawson ERP application administration.
  • Experience in infrastructure design, systems analysis, and security management.
  • Some experience working with commercial models around infrastructure capacity procurement.
  • Experience in customer service and vendor management.
  • Some experience in business stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.
  • Experience with scripting and automating system administration processes is required
  • Experience with Python and Pearl is preferred
  • 3 or more years of experience in Oracle and/or Postgres SQL Database Administration preferred
  • Experience with server management (e.g., Ansible, Satellite, etc.), enterprise monitoring (e.g. Nagios), and IT Service Management (e.g. ServiceNow) preferred
  • Experience in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network and Security preferred
  • Experience in a multi-vendor computer/network operating and application systems environment preferred

Other Credentials

  • Certification in one of the following areas if applicable is desired: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHEL 7 and 8) and/or Oracle Database Administration
