About the Position:

 

We have a Lead Researcher opportunity in our Department of Pathology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

 

In this role, the selected candidates day to day work will be at our Memphis St. Jude campus, but with the added opportunity to travel to St Jude Global Alliance members (e.g., centers in Latin America, Middle East, Asian Pacific) multiple times a year to provide technical support for laboratory development projects, emphasizing flow cytometry panel design, validation, training, deployment, and troubleshooting.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent technical expertise in flow cytometry, specifically for the detection of neoplasia/leukemia, and design panels for flow cytometry. Although experience in hematologic neoplasms is ideal, any individual with experience in oncology would be preferred. Experience in molecular diagnostic methods, including tissue storage, DNA/RNA extraction, library creation, and sequencing are also preferred.

 

Having clinical lab experience, foreign language skills, and leadership skills would be ideal.

 

Travel will be required for this opportunity.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required

  • Minimum Experience

  • Five (5) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required
  • Two (2) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Master's degree
  • No experience is required with a PHD
