Responsibilities The successful applicant will be expected to: (1) develop/maintain a nationally and internationally recognized extramurally funded research program, (2) contribute to the department’s teaching and service efforts at the undergraduate and graduate levels, (3) recruit and mentor graduate students, and (4) contribute to the mission of the Institute of Sports Sciences & Medicine (http://issm.fsu.edu).

Qualifications Applicants must have an earned doctorate in nutrition, exercise physiology, or related discipline and have significant postdoctoral training or postgraduate experience. The applicant must demonstrate a record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and evidence of extramural support for research activities.

The Department of Nutrition and Integrative Physiology is the 6th largest department at Florida State University with 1,250 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. The department offers undergraduate majors in Athletic Training, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, and Food and Nutrition. The department offers graduate degrees at the Master’s level in Sports Nutrition, Nutrition & Food Science, Exercise Physiology, and Sports Sciences. The department also offers graduate degrees at the doctoral level in Nutrition & Food Science and Exercise Physiology.

The Institute of Sports Sciences and Medicine (ISSM; http://issm.fsu.edu) is a research facility with key stakeholders in the College of Health and Human Sciences, Department of Athletics, and College of Medicine.
