Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be expected to: (1) develop/maintain a nationally and internationally recognized extramurally funded research program, and (2) contribute to the Department’s teaching and service efforts at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the candidate’s area of expertise. Additionally, the applicant is expected to recruit and mentor graduate students.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in nutrition or related discipline and have significant postdoctoral training. Applicants must demonstrate a record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and evidence of extramural support for research activities.

Preferred

Priority will be given to registered dietitian (RD) applicants.

The Department of Nutrition and Integrative Physiology in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Florida State University is seeking a nutrition scientist to fill two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants are expected to develop an extramurally funded research program that will strengthen and complement the Department’s ongoing research activity. The faculty in the department have research interests related to the areas of nutrition, the role of functional foods and gut microbiome in chronic diseases, community nutrition, obesity, cardiovascular and skeletal muscle physiology, aging, cancer, smoking/vaping and alcohol abuse.
