The Director is the chief academic officer for the School of Mass Communication and reports to the Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education. The Director is responsible for all aspects of the academic, personnel, and financial operation of the School of Mass Communication, which has a current enrollment of approximately 130 undergraduate and 20 graduate students. The Director represents the School at the college and university level as well as to external constituents. The Director will lead faculty and staff in developing the academic programs in the School of Mass Communication as well as its physical and technical infrastructure. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Required Qualifications: Terminal degree in a Mass Communication field; Experience in teaching, research, or creative activity sufficient to be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor; Administrative experience as Program Coordinator or related administrative experience.

Preferred Education and/or Experience: Experience as department chair, School director or related administrative experience; Experience working at an institution serving non-traditional students; Ability to contribute to the MA in Mass Communication.
