Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the dean, the program coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the Surgical Technology Program. The coordinator is responsible for teaching courses, designing and developing curriculum, evaluating adjunct personnel and student performance, advising students, and maintaining program budget and accreditation.


Minimum and Additional Requirements

This position requires an associate degree in surgical technology from a nationally accredited programmatic agency and a total of five (5) years of working experience in the operating room in the scrub role or as an instructor for surgical technology in an accredited program within the past ten years is required. Preferred candidate will also have a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

The candidate must possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA). The candidate must have documented education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential. Knowledge of the accreditation process is critical.
