Cybersecurity Education Specialist   

Job Description Summary   

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Education Specialist to help enhance Cybersecurity education at Florida Polytechnic University as part of the "Enhancing the Growth and Quality of Cybersecurity Programs (EGQCP)" project that is funded by The Cybersecurity and Information Technology Pathways (Cyber/IT Pathways) program (https://cyberflorida.org/pathways/). The Cybersecurity Education Specialist will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Cybersecurity Faulty at Florida Polytechnic University to address cybersecurity workforce challenges by enhancing f graduates' qualifications, skills, and numbers in the Cybersecurity Engineering program and the Information Assurance and Cybersecurity concentration at Florida Polytechnic University and making them hirable on the first day of graduation. The Cybersecurity Education Specialist will also have the opportunity to help in attracting more high school students to the cybersecurity engineering program.

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or other closely related fields.
  • At least one of the following certifications: CEH, SANS, or CISSP.
  • US Citizen.
Job Functions:
  • Work with cybersecurity faculty to establish a model for delivering cybersecurity extracurricular activities.
  • Help in the training process of students and faculty.
  • Revise the existing curriculum, identify the weaknesses, and provide the faculty with plans and suggestions to improve them.
  • Help the university effort in the outreach to high-school students.
  • Work with faculty to prepare and deliver a Cybersecurity summer camp in the summer of 2023.
  • Help the Principal Investigators of the project in designing the Cybersecurity Lab in the new ARC (Advanced Research Center) building.
  • Help with the submission of faculty Cybersecurity proposals.
