JOB DESCRIPTION

The El Camino Community College District is seeking clinical psychologists for its Student Health Center. Under the general direction of the Student Health Center's faculty coordinator, the clinical psychologist will provide short-term psychological services to students served by the Health Center.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: the ability to design and conduct psycho-educational workshops and activities/trainings, particularly as it relates to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and special populations (Latinx, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Veterans, DACA mented/Undocumented communities); facilitating the development of support services to students, including linkage services and collaborative work both on-campus and in the community; and participation in professional and in-service training as well as committee work, as assigned.

 

Clinical responsibilities also include the ability to work as part of an integrated medical and mental health team, maintenance of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with all state and federal laws; provision of short-term counseling services to students, including crisis management and intervention, and clinical supervision of graduate interns/students.

 

Candidates selected for interview must show evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse, academic socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•   Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in clinical psychology or counseling psychology.

•   Valid California State license as a psychologist issued by the California State Board of Psychology by start date of position.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•   Experience working in a diverse setting.

•   Experience working with student population.

•   College/Student Health Services experience.

•   Knowledge of Mental Health Community Resources for students, including uninsured students.

•   Bilingual.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Part-time assignment(s) for the 2022 fall semester. Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), and transcripts. Candidates selected for employment must agree to be fingerprinted, submit proof of COVID Vaccination, submit Certificate of Completion of the Tuberculosis Risk Assessment and/or Examination, provide proof of eligibility for employment in the United States, and present a valid Social Security card upon hire.

 

SALARY

Hours worked will be compensated at an hourly rate as defined in Appendix D-3, Special Rate of Pay $74.27, of the Agreement between El Camino Community College District and the El Camino College Federation of Teachers.
