Manager, Endpoint/Hardware Services

 

The Manager, Endpoint/Hardware Services provides operational management and strategic leadership of the OIT Endpoint Hardware Services team, including OIT Stores Operations and Service & Repair. This is a pivotal role in maintaining the reliable supply, quality and service level of computers, printers, and mobile devices for the entire Brown community. This position is also responsible for managing the day to day supervision of approximately four employees plus a small number of students and/or interns. This position may occasionally be required to work outside regular business hours.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 2-4 years of experience within an IT environment required

  • Lead or supervisory experience

  • Expertise with computer/printer/mobile hardware specification, deployment, management, service & repair, procurement and inventory management preferred

  • Strong parallel focus on high customer satisfaction and supportive team leadership

  • Advanced professional service and repair knowledge of computer/printer/mobile hardware

  • Expertise in designing and selecting hardware standards

  • High initiative to collaborate with other internal teams to meet challenges

  • Strategic vision to select efficient technologies, optimize processes, and maximize awareness and responsiveness to CIS and community needs

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing tasks and projects to meet the goals of the organization

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are essential. Superior customer service and customer focus skills are required

  • Ability and willingness to learn and teach various technologies to staff and others

  • Ability to keep abreast of new developments and innovations in the use of computers as they apply to the higher education user community at Brown

  • Ability to work in and foster a collaborative team environment

  • Experience in vendor and budget management is preferred

  • Experience in working in higher education preferred

  • Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment

 

Additional physical demands and working conditions:

  • Driver’s license required

  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift 50lbs.

  • This position may occasionally be required to work outside regular business hours.
