The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for a full-time, exempt IT Cloud Solutions Developer in the Technology Integration Services (TIS) Department. Working both independently and in teams, the IT Cloud Solutions Developer is responsible for creating and implementing technology solutions for a variety of simple and complex automation projects, including mission-critical projects across the Haslam College of Business. The developer identifies and implements solutions while keeping in communication with internal and external stakeholders, training both product users and fellow IT staff members, and supporting users after implementation.

The position requires identifying and correcting problems and potential problems with new Cloud-based programs, creating quality control testing plans and software to document and analyze degrees of use, success, and limitations of implemented solutions and programs.

The developer collaborates and consults with departments and units from across the college, designing technological solutions to their specific needs or locates existing solutions and oversees their procurement and licensing requirements. The developer is also responsible for disseminating information about software and technology in use and being developed as needed.



Qualifications
Responsibilities:

    Provide technical analysis of information technology problems regarding work processes. Design, create, and administer large scale, online environments across multiple platforms. Consult with users, including leadership from across the college, to determine needs.Gather requirements for work process and end user requirements and translate those requirements into automated solutions for the end user.Develop custom business solutions using PowerApps, Power Automate, Power Bi, SharePoint REST API's, JSON code, 3rd Party API's, or other tools as required. Build stand-alone Canvas apps and Power Platform solutions from the ground up in multiple Power Platform environments. Create Instant workflows, Automated workflows, Manual workflows, and Scheduled workflows.Execute project launches to include demos, training, end user documentation, and support and maintenance of automated solution.Create developer documentation that includes Visio flowchart to outline entire process, documentation on SharePoint site custom lists and document libraries, documentation on Power Apps app, and documentation on Power Automate.Create thorough project documentation including meeting notes, training notes, and research notes.Manage multiple Microsoft Environments, creating solutions, exporting solutions, Power Apps, and Power Automate from one environment into another.Administer variety of cloud-based productivity and data storage appsApplication Lifecycle Management (ALM). Manage Microsoft Active Directory college-wide.Identify and coordinate the functions of system resources with the information technology needs of the college-wide user community.Collaborate with external vendors, OIT, and other university departments to develop solutions for the college. Supervise team of 1 - 2 contract consultantsResearch and provide training on new technologies. Coordinate testing plans with colleagues and departments within the college and perform testing on new software solutions.Research SharePoint Online updates that are continually being rolled out by Microsoft, identify issues, and determine what needs to be incorporated into the college's large SharePoint Online environment. Alert senior staff of any compliance issues and other problems with new and existing technologies.Create and manage new SharePoint Online sites and Microsoft Teams.Provide training for faculty and staff on new systems and processesTrain new consultants on college best practices and standards for Power Platform development, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.
Qualifications

Required: 

  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of Power Platform development experience OR 4 years of IT support experience and 1 year of Power Platform development experience.
Desired: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
