AV Technologies Manager, School of Continuing Studies Georgetown University

AV Technologies Manager, School of Continuing Studies - Georgetown University

Georgetown's School of Continuing Studies (SCS) seeks to foster a collaborative, innovative, and student-first culture shaped by Georgetown's Jesuit heritage and values. SCS endeavors to be a center of innovation and growth within the University by introducing academic programs that respond to emerging and evolving needs in the economy and society.

The AV Technologies Manager directly supports the teaching needs of the School of Continuing Studies by providing critical day-to-day management of all audio-visual equipment at the school in duties that include but are not limited to set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of all AV/projection /conferencing equipment, devices, and AV systems - as well as event and Zoom tech support. They oversee the set-up in conference rooms, meeting rooms, classrooms and the auditorium and support the School of Continuing Studies' Digital Media Center, providing coverage and support to the DMC Multi Media Manager as needed.

The AV Technologies Manager assists and instructs /students/faculty/staff on the proper usage and operation of all AV equipment, promotes different AV services, and monitors equipment operation at appropriate intervals; and creates any relevant training materials as needed. They liaison closely with the school's IT and Operations staff to facilitate classroom readiness and equipment usage for end-user and internal/external partners; and makes recommendations for equipment replacement, improvements, or system upgrades.

The AV Technologies Manager supports SCS's goal of high stakeholder satisfaction, customer service, increasing revenues, and effective cost management.

Qualifications
  • College degree
  • 4 years of experience working with - and knowledge of - projector systems and VTC systems and software troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience in system installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of audio/video and VTC equipment installation and maintenance, including but not limited to monitors, cameras, codex, video bridge, and connectivity to support video transmission
  • Installation and maintenance of projection equipment
  • Knowledge sufficient to resolve related hardware problems in a timely manner
  • Knowledge about systems software to determine if a malfunction of the equipment is in the hardware or in the software

  • Detail orientation and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Practical problem solving and solid troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to train end users on the operation of software and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with other people in a team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision and desire to learn new things
  • Well organized and excellent documentation skills


Work site and hours: 640 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC - Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
