Duties:

Under the administrative direction of the Dean of Student Success, the Assistant Dean, is responsible for the leadership of the day-to-day operations of the college’s high school to college transition programs. The Assistant Dean oversees programs and services that support students’ seamless transition to college, persistence and completion.

The Assistant Dean of Student Success provides leadership and direction for college-wide early college programs which include: coordinating efforts in the maintenance and development of partnerships with high school, college and community stakeholders; collaborating with Deans and department chairpersons to maintain alignment with curriculum changes and to ensure program adherence to the Illinois Dual Credit Quality Act standards; keeping up-to-date records for all documents between college and district high schools and maintaining records of all documents shared with the Moraine Area Career System (MACS). The Assistant Dean collaborates with the college research department to maintain statistics on dual credit, dual enrollment, and AP students. Additionally, the Assistant Dean enhances and improves student understanding and use of high school to college career pathways; serves as a liaison in order to coordinate mutually beneficial programs between the college and its district high schools; ensures that dual credit and enrollment programs and high schools maintain compliance with ICCB and HLC accrediting agency standards. The Assistant Dean of Student Success actively demonstrates dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. The Assistant Dean is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

Education/Experience:

Master’s Degree in Student Personnel Administration, Educational Administration or related area required. A minimum 3 years of experience in program development and planning (including supervisory responsibility) at the college or high school level required.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent personal, written and oral communication skills, including public-speaking.
  • Ability to work well with people across the campus and MVCC high school district.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to details.
  • Experience in an academic advising and/or in a community college setting is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with high school students preferred.
  • Proficient use of computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.
  • Must have a track record demonstrating dedication to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.

8:00 am -5:15 pm
General Hours
Some evenings and weekends required to support programming.

$78,185
