Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Music Department at times needs temporary, part-time Instructors to fill in for faculty on sabbaticals and leaves. Typical assignments for temporary, part-time instructor assignments have been for marching band directors, for private instruction in voice and major performance music lessons, for teaching Music Business Technology courses, and for supervising music student teachers.

The Department of Music offers thorough preparation for careers in music, music education, and music business and technology. The Music Department offers a broad-based curriculum that encompasses music of the world and integrates an expanding use of technology into our learning environments.

The Music department provides opportunities for solo, chamber music and large ensemble performance, research and collaborative scholarship.

In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor degree plus 15 graduate credits. Three years minimum of teaching experience or related professional experience in lieu of teaching experience. Evidence of ability to successfully teach diverse student populations. Successful interview and teaching demonstration. Three successful background checks: Act 34 (Criminal Record Check); Act 114 (FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting); and Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance).
