The Chemistry Department within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut, Stamford, invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor in Residence or Instructor in Residence level.
The successful candidate will assist with teaching introductory chemistry laboratory and lecture courses, and take the lead in developing and prepping the laboratory for the chemistry courses in collaboration with the other full-time faculty members. This position requires an individual with a dynamic personality who can interact with undergraduate students in addition to faculty across the branches and main campus at UConn, and who has a track record of excellence in teaching and working with a diverse student population.
UConn Stamford is an urban campus at the center of one of Fairfield County's robust business communities, just 45 minutes from New York City, which gives students ample opportunities for internships and careers. The campus serves 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students, including many first-generation college students. It offers 14 undergraduate majors, including business administration, digital media and design, computer science, and history.

Instructor in Residence: Applicants must have an M.S. in chemistry or a closely related field and experience teaching laboratory courses.
Assistant Professor in Residence: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field and experience teaching laboratory courses.
Knowledge of current safety practices, waste and hazard management, and experience with environmental health and safety practices. Experience teaching non-science major chemistry lecture courses.
This position is a full-time, nine (9)-month non-tenure track appointment, with a start date of January 1, 2023. The position may be annually renewable based on performance, budget, and the needs of the Department and College. Salary is competitive and salary and rank are based upon qualifications and experience. The successful candidate’s primary academic appointment will be at the Stamford Campus.
