Job Summary
The department of University Support Services at Columbus State University has an opening for an Inventory Clerk I. This position involves clerical and field work taking physical inventories. Work involves performance of routine work in taking physical inventories of University property, including marking of capital items and
searching for lost items. Field work is performed with relative independence. The employee in this class performs duties in accordance with established procedures and regulations and makes independent inventories and searches. Instructions are normally received on each assignment; independent work is reviewed primarily through analysis of results obtained.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, track usage, and complete audits to ensure supplies are accounted for.
  • Analyze usage records, high and low levels of on hand inventory and create purchase orders for product needs.
  • Receive products into inventory and add them to inventory records.
  • Create and process purchase order requests for custodial items.
  • Send, track, and receive all equipment repairs for campus services.
  • Able to complete other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Required qualifications include a High School diploma and one to three months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have knowledge of inventory best practices and digital tracking software; the ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions; the ability to deal tactfully and courteously with officials and others contacted during the course of work; the ability to lift, stow, and move freight of up to 50lbs; and the ability to supervise the distribution of inventory to assigned areas.

Proposed Salary
The salary range for this position is $24,836 - $29,795 and includes full benefits.
