Job Summary
Columbus State University, a senior unit of the University System of Georgia, is seeking a part-time Elementary Resource Teacher (Educational Program Specialist) to work at the Columbus Regional Mathematics Collaborative (CRMC), one of the university's Centers of Excellence in the College of Education and Health Professions (COEHP). This person would work 25-35 hours per month.

This is a temporary position, available through May, 2022. Continuation of this position is dependent upon future grant funding.

Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for this position include: serving as mathematics consultant to CRMC staff and CSU faculty on projects involving mathematics; organizing and cataloging mathematics resource materials; assisting area mathematics teachers and preservice students in developing lessons and activities, both in the CRMC office and in the teachers' classrooms; reviewing and recommending the purchase of resource materials for mathematics teachers, both for CRMC and school use; assisting in the development of curriculum for summer camps and workshops and coordinating follow-up activities with camp and workshop participants; preparing videos of mathematics content; conducting workshops, as requested, on a variety of mathematics topics; presenting model lessons based on National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Standards and Georgia Performance Standards; assisting in the development of grant proposals; and assisting in the development, marketing, and implementation of specific collaborative projects.

Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include teacher certification in Early Childhood or Elementary Education with a minimum of five years of teaching experience; candidate should have experience with technology as both a productivity tool and an educational tool; candidate should have experience in the development and presentation of professional development experiences to adult learners; knowledge of and experience implementing practices and standards recommended by leadership in the field of mathematics education is essential; candidate must have the ability to employ a variety of technologies and techniques to deliver innovative professional learning curriculum; ability to speak effectively before groups and facilitate discussions; ability to collaborate and work effectively with administration, colleagues, CSU faculty, staff and students, area teachers and administrators, and the general public.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in education preferred, with a strong background in mathematics topics.
