Responsibilities: The SSS Tutorial/Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the tutorial lab and implementation of academic and financial literacy student development workshops. The coordinator is responsible for hiring, training and supervising student tutors to maintain effective and efficient lab operations. The coordinator will also be responsible for compiling service data, writing reports, and working closely with faculty and staff, especially the Center for Career & Postgraduate Readiness. The position will manage the tutoring component’s budget; and oversee purchases of supplies, equipment, and contracted services as needed. The Tutorial/Program Coordinator will manage the implementation of both Competitive Preference Priorities submitted in the 2020 SSS grant application; use career assessment, exploration, and skill-building tools to assist participants with creating career paths aligned with their skills, interests, and majors and research and assist with the planning of visits to graduate and professional schools in our region.

Qualifications: A master’s degree in education, public administration, counseling, psychology or a related field. Must have knowledge and experience with the implementation of financial, career and academic pathways that facilitate the personal growth and development of college students. Moreover, an immense understanding of the variables and challenges that impede low-income, first-generation, and disabled students from graduating is essential. Five or more years of experience in a secondary, community college or a four-year institution, especially with a Trio program, is preferred. As in most educational opportunity programs, some weekend and evening work is required.
