Position Summary:

Governors State University is seeking to hire a Program Director for the Department of Student Affairs. GSU’s TRIO Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) Project is a federally funded TRIO program intended to provide counseling and information on college admissions and other beneficial services to qualified adults and teenage students who want to enter, reenter, or continue a program of post-secondary education. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, the EOC Director provides leadership, management, and oversight of all grant activities including outreach, partnership building, service offerings, and other educational events. EOC ensures participants are aware of a wide variety of post-secondary opportunities, including traditional academic programs, career training, and certificate programs. In addition to participant support, this position will also be required to build and maintain strong community partnerships across the service area. EOC’s emphasis is on supporting participants from low-income and under-served communities with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.

Salary starts at:
$55,000.00
(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications).

Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED: A COPY OF YOUR CURRENT DRIVER’S LICENSE AND DOCUMENTATION CONFIRMING HIGH SCHOOL COMPLETION OR EQUIVALENT MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION, COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS MAY BE SUBSTITUTED (See “Special instructions to applicants” section below).

• Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• The individual will have three (3) years or more demonstrated successful experience in designing, managing, evaluating, and implementing TRIO or similar project.
