Office Support Specialist
Under the supervision of the Director of Residence Life, and with work assigned by the Housing Specialist, the Office Support Specialist (Professional Services Specialist IV) performs basic professional functions using established policies, procedures and guidelines and is responsible for assisting with the coordination of professional operations within the Office of Residence Life. Primary duties include assisting with the following processes: assessment, data collection, compiling reports, purchasing functions, updating student information in the university database and maintaining effective systems for document retention and removal. The Office Support Specialist also performs professional office support functions; works as the operations team leader among the part-time and student worker support staff; and does related work as required. The Office Support Specialist works with the senior management team to create a residential environment conducive to student success and ensures efficient and effective customer service is provided to students and their families. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience in higher education, education or a business field providing customer service and support services. Professional experience in higher education, specifically residence life and housing is preferred. Candidate must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
