Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting in the management, administrative direction, and coordination of activities and staff for multiple operational units and program areas and also serves as a member of the university (UBA) Senior Management Team by participating in strategic planning, policy decisions, and other associated projects.

  • Provides guidance, direction, and oversight to staff responsible for the finance and administration responsibilities within assigned UBA client sites.
  • Responsible for staffing decisions, staff development and training, performance evaluations and guidance with workload effectiveness.
  • Responsible for projects or initiates within the department given by the Director to enhance the effectiveness of the organization and departmental needs.
  • Responsible for roles directly related to operations such as COOP Coordinator, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning coordinator, and IEP designee.
  • Serves as a member of the UBA Senior Management team participating in strategic planning and policy development. Participates in the development and implementation of core training materials, procedure improvement enhancements and organizational meetings.
  • Provides advanced support, development, and guidance on finance and administration type responsibilities including but not limited to staff management, development, data analysis, reporting, and compliance enforcement.
  • Provides detailed assessment reports and recommendations related to trend analyses and compliance monitoring to support the mission of the organization.
  • Recommends policies and procedures to client site leadership and provides advice and counsel, interprets and communicates university policies to staff, and monitors assigned client sites to ensure proper internal controls.
Qualifications

Masters degree and five years experience or Bachelors degree and seven years experience

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain and improve personal and team effectiveness, and foster change and creativity.
  • Experience supervising and training employees.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of fiscal control systems
  • Experience evaluating process effectiveness and developing changes or alternatives
  • Experience maintaining and improving personal and team effectiveness, and fostering change and creativity
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
