The Executive Director of the Center for Financial Reporting and Management (CFRM) provides leadership intended to connect practitioners, faculty, and students around the broad issues of financial reporting and managerial accounting through sharing research ideas, organizing educational seminars, and connecting external constituents to promising students.

Haas embraces flexible working arrangements for its employees. Exact arrangements are determined in partnership with your supervisor to meet role responsibilities/department needs and are subject to change. This role is eligible for a hybrid work plan.

Responsibilities
    Organizes professional conferences/events related to the Center for Financial Reporting and Management. Manages the Berkeley Charter of Professional Accountancy (BCPA) program, which allows students to complete all of the coursework needed to satisfy the 30 accounting subject units for CPA licensure in California in just two summers. This responsibility includes both short and long-range planning. Takes primary responsibility for all aspects of the Center, including directing and administering the program and managing both financial and human resources. Identifies and pursues funding opportunities and revenue streams Develops and maintains relationships with the center's external supporters, sponsors, and other key stakeholders and collaborate with internal and external constituencies.

Required Qualifications
    Academic background and experience in the accounting discipline. Demonstrated accomplishments in developing revenue streams and fundraising strategies. Experience organizing conferences and professional events. Experience administering staff and budgets, including collaborating with internal and external peers and managers. Advanced interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and demonstrated success in using them to lead a high-functioning unit. Demonstrated achievements in handling difficult situations/individuals effectively, including active listening, process improvement, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members.
    Exemplifies Haas' four Defining Leadership Principles: (1) Question the status quo; (2) Confidence without attitude; (3) Students always; and (4) Beyond yourself Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in a business, organization or public university setting.

Education/Training:
    Advanced degree in accounting or related area and/or equivalent combination of experience/education. CPA certification is desirable.



Salary & Benefits

This is a 50% time ( 20 hours a week ), monthly paid, exempt position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience up to $189,000 ( full-time rate ).
