Job Summary:

  • Eastern Washington University is looking to fill our Director- Women’s Basketball Operations(DOBO) who will report to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and provide operational support for all areas of Eastern Washington University’s women’s basketball program. The DOBO will coordinate team travel and assist with outbound recruiting travel for coaching staff and inbound recruiting travel for prospective student-athletes. In addition to planning all team meals during travel, the DOBO will also be responsible for scheduling pre-game and post-game meals for home games and events. The DOBO will assist coaches with content for social media, program promotion and publicity, student-athlete housing, and community outreach programming. The DOBO will be the program liaison to athletics administration for social media, program promotion and publicity, student-athlete housing, and community outreach programming. The DOBO will serve as the liaison with opponents for the scheduling of practice and shoot-around times; distribution of game video; and fulfillment of contractual commitments to visiting teams. The DOBO will assist coaches with the coordination, promotion and management of camps. The DOBO will perform other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and the Director of Athletics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two (2) years of collegiate playing experience or operations of a basketball program.
  • Ability to coordinate the travel of large groups.
  • Experience with summer basketball camps.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and document key aspects of the recruiting process.
  • Experience in coordinating the travel of large groups.
  • Experience directing summer basketball camps.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree.
  • Experience working at the Division I collegiate level with the operations of a basketball program.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with Big Sky Conference rules and regulations.
  • Experience preparing video and/or film within the confines of a basketball program.

This position will be Monday-Friday with weekend work as necessary. This position will also travel with the basketball team during away games. Hours are variable per Head Basketball Coach.

  • Manage all aspects of team travel including transportation, hotel, team meals, and laundry.
  • Prepare facility for practice each day.
  • Assist with apparel and equipment contracts and order, inventory and distribute all apparel and equipment.
  • Assist with on-campus recruiting (official and unofficial visits) as well as work with recruiting coordinator to manage recruiting databases and presentations.
  • Work with the head coach, facilities, sports performance, and academics to put together and distribute the weekly team schedule.
  • Assist the coaches and academic coordinator when putting together class and study hall schedules.
  • Oversee players’ and coaches’ home and road ticket lists (in accordance with compliance).
  • Work with assistant coaches in overseeing student-athlete housing and applications and admissions for incoming student-athletes.
  • Manage subscriptions to scouting services, analytics, and video services.
  • Oversee community service outings.
  • Assist with planning and executing all program-related events including fundraisers, end-of-the-year banquets, senior day, and team meals.
  • Coordinate laundry for team-issued gear and uniforms.
  • Manage all video operations for practice and games including film exchange with the opponent.
  • Create content and help manage Social Media accounts in coordination with the Sports Information Office.
